Sway’s design team is dedicated to the innovation and design of brands across a multitude of industries. Each of our three design team members play a specific and integral role in achieving the same common goal – turning our clients into marketing giants.
But what happens behind the design? Let’s take a look at how the design team got to where they are and how they stay sharp and up to date on all things creative!
Natalie – Print Design
Natalie is Sway’s senior graphic designer specializing in photography, branding, and print design. She is the longest standing team member being with the agency for nearly 6 years working behind the scenes building many of the brands that you see today.
What made you want to get into design?
I liked the idea of making a career out of my ability to be creative. Compared to other art forms that are more free flowing, I like that design is more structured in nature.
I also love the fact that I get to use my creativity to help others. It's cool to create a brand from the ground up, see it grow, and then watch the client apply it in the future. It's so rewarding getting to see your work out there in so many different mediums.

What is your current favourite design trend?
I really enjoy the idea of taking what is considered “old” and making it new again. We are seeing a lot of brands shifting from that stuffy look to becoming more approachable and friendly.
What do you see in the future for design?
I think in the digital world we are going to see more focus being placed on 3D renderings, AI, as well as user experience. The print pieces we are currently seeing are going to have a complimentary digital element to them as well. As stated before, I can see brands wanting to be more approachable to consumers. They are going to focus on convincing people to invest in the brand itself where consumers are becoming a part of a community versus just buying a product.
Pranjal – Digital Design
Pranjal is Sway’s digital graphic designer specializing in social media assets, emails, and digital advertising. From videos to carefully crafted emails, Pranjal’s designs have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue for clients across a span of industries.
What made you want to get into design?
I have always been into art, but I never really knew how to focus on it. But you could say my career in design was a bit of a happy accident, I was supposed to be an engineer! My entrance form didn’t make it to the office in time, and by the time I noticed it was too late. That same week I saw an advertisement for a design course. I took the course and from there I landed my first job in a social media marketing agency in India. It was during my time at the agency that I learned the inner working of how an agency operates.
I have loved it ever since!

What is your current favourite design trend?
Currently, I am really into AR and VR. I am excited to see how it will be used in the future and how consumers interact with it as the technology becomes more relevant.
What do you see in the future for design?
I don’t think we can predict where design is going to be in the future. Design is chaotic in the sense that it is constantly evolving and changing. Trends are here one day and gone the next so to predict where design is going in the future would be impossible.
Nataliia – Web Design
Nataliia is Sway’s website designer based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. Her incredible eye for design and user experience generates high quality leads and conversions on all the client websites she creates.
What made you want to get into design?
I have always been a very visual person and I am interested in technology, so I wanted a way to be able to combine the two professionally.
For me it's about creating systems. I love seeing good design systems out in the world, and I wanted to be able to create similar systems myself.
I also enjoy seeing how design influences user behaviour and numbers. My personal favourite example is the transit system we have in Vancouver. The branding, colours, and overall design is something I find very interesting and enjoy watching how consumers interact with it.

What is your current favourite design trend?
I like modern, complex asymmetric layouts that look visually appealing. I enjoy the way that they are structured in that they create an interesting story for users.
What do you see in the future for design?
I think we are going to see a trend towards AR and VR. We are already starting to see it used (for example Ikea) but I think we are going to see ecommerce websites using it a lot more frequently.
Websites will also be creating more and more personalized experiences for consumers using AI.
Finally, I believe that we are going to see greater importance being placed on accessibility so that businesses can target larger audiences.
